INVITATION TO JOIN OUR CAUSE - Express your kindness!
Express Your Kindness project was launched on April 30, 2020. It emerged from wanting to support and uplift my students' mental and emotional health, and as a way to teach them to process, connect with, and express their emotions during the pandemic. As we tap into the source of love and creativity we have inside, we share our gifts and talents. This project is intended for children to share their art and healing words. It is a way for children to express their gratitude to our healthcare workers and express care to anyone in need. Thank you for being part of this project. As we share our creative expressions we become a positive source of global peer-support connected through love.

All children from different grades, schools and countries are being invited to join our kindness project. Create a drawing expressing your gratitude for our healthcare workers and create a "feel better" drawing for anyone in the hospital. Let's share our kindness!

In January our pre-k inclusion class learned about Martin Luther King Junior. In honor of his dream and for guiding all children and adults to live in kindness, we sent a box with a few gently used books, hand-made cards and an art project to the Mercy One Children's hospital. They learned about how some children may not be feeling well and that we can share our aloha and peace with them in different ways. Young children have the capacity and compassion to serve. Helping others teaches them about extending kindness, communicating, working together and gratitude. It is important for young children to learn about positive leaders/servers. Positive role models along with practicing serving further awakens their open hearts to know they can make a difference at any age and grow into kind and compassionate adults. This was our first community project!

We received this letter from MercyOne Children's Hospital. Parker Baker and Dane Pratt received our package. Over 60,000 patients will be able to view the keiki's art work and have access to the books sent! It is wonderful to connect with other through sharing kindness.

Click here if you also would like to donate books and read MercyOne's story of how the donations started.
